This book is needed. While the focus is on sexual brokenness and surrendered sexuality, it speaks to any sin struggle and faith walk. I loved that it resonated so closely to my walk with Jesus as I surrendered to Him and His way. It gives words to how a relationship with Jesus is experienced. I pray God will use it to set the captives free and change lives.
I think this is one of the most important books I’ve read…I’m reading this book 2 years into my journey with Authentic Intimacy, so I have heard a lot of what was said. One new thing that I now think about all the time is the idea from the first chapter about if God revealed to us all of our sin at once how devastating that would be, and it’s His mercy to sanctify us progressively. That frees me to have compassion on myself and others and to depend on God for conviction, repentance, and freedom.
Some weeks were really hard as I wrestled with my selfishness, brokenness, and surrendering. Surrender is what our lives are to be about. It is what God has demonstrated for us. I need to be completely surrendered to God, willing to expose all of who I am, shame and all. That is when I am truly able to experience His love and forgiveness for me. Thank you, Juli!!
