Get to Know Sondra

Hi, I’m Sondra. I have facilitated multiple OBS groups with my husband and multiple women’s groups, including leading Surprised by the Healer multiple times with my amazing co-leader Beth. My hubby and I were married in 1995 and were high school sweethearts. For most of our marriage, I isolated from my husband Jason, fearing true intimacy, but then God intervened and redeemed! Through OBS groups, I found a safe community of believers that I could share sensitive issues with and be met with love and acceptance. Hearing stories from others helped me to unveil lies and find freedom from shame. Jason and I now work, play and do this ministry together with great joy!

Sondra is an awesome leader; so supporting, honest, humble, genuine, and gospel oriented. Personable. Kind. Enthusiastic. Humorous. She led from a place of humility and an intimate knowing of the Lord’s work in her life.

Get to Know Beth

Hello, I am Beth. I am a mother of two and have been married for 39 years. I have a passion for the truth found in God’s word and a desire for the truth to take back what the enemy has stolen. Healing is a difficult topic to discuss, but AI has created a safe and supportive place for women seeking answers to difficult questions. I have co-led many OBS groups over the past two years and have witnessed God bring hope and healing to many women through these book studies. I thank God for this ministry and look forward to seeing what He will do this season!

Beth is compassionate, godly, prepared, personable, friendly, and knowledgeable about the book. I love her openess and vulnerability. She is truly a blessing. She also has so much wisdom and encouragment, making sure feedback is Christ centered.

I loved seeing parts of my own story in every single chapter of this book. The best part of the group was sharing insights with the other participants and also sharing supplementary information with each other via the AI discussion boards on the website. This group was life-changing! The most valuable things: Just coming together with other women with hurts and pains and creating a safe space to share our pain, struggles, support, and healing journeys. I also love that if I miss a session I get a check-in and additional messages about prayer requests. The leaders have some big hearts! Understanding and comfort abound.
